THIN ICE is a series of imagined icebergs

 

Photographed in Pennsylvania and New Jersey mall parking lots, the images conjure the visually familiar and strange.
 

The works in this series originated from viewing fewer and fewer snow piles in the Mid-Atlantic during the winter season. I began looking for these mounds all the time – stopping to photograph subtle differences in shapes and dimensions.
